We welcome all chess players from beginner to Grandmaster.

Club nights are:

Wednesdays 19:30 - 22:00 at the Old King's Head pub in Belper.

Whether you're looking for casual games, wanting to learn the basics, or seeking competitive play, you'll find your place here. Our club offers:

Friendly casual games in a welcoming atmosphere - join us for social chess and good conversation
Regular analysis nights where we review games and discuss strategy - improve your play through group discussion
Opportunities to participate in local leagues and ECF-rated competitions - represent Belper in team matches

Our members range from casual players who enjoy the social aspect to competitive players rated over 2000 ECF - everyone is welcome!

We have a supply of boards and clocks - so just bring your best moves!
